Rainfall continues in Delhi-NCR, breaks record of 41 Years
New Delhi : Heavy rainfall continues in the national capital Delhi. The city recorded a minimum temperature of 25 degree Celsius. This broke the 41 year old record of highest rainfall in 24 hours in the month of July. Water accumulated especially under flyovers.
According to the Meteorological Department, the rains continuing since Saturday morning have broken the record of 41 years in Delhi. Till 8:30 in the morning, 153 mm of rainfall was recorded.
Due to continuous rains in Delhi for two days, the minimum temperature has also dropped. According to the information, 25.1 degree Celsius has been recorded three notches below normal.
Heavy rainfall has impacted several regions, including Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, eastern Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, and parts of Karnataka. In these areas, roads have been blocked by landslides and flash floods, causing disruptions and difficulties in transportation.
The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for rain today. The department has predicted heavy to extremely heavy rain for Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir. Delhi is receiving torrential rains due to the combined effect of monsoon winds and western disturbances.
