NZ vs UGA : New Zealand destroyed Uganda in a meaningless match of Group-C in the T20 World Cup 2024. First, they bowled lethally and bundled out Uganda for 40 runs in 18.4 overs. In reply, they achieved the target in 5.2 overs i.e. 32 balls.
For New Zealand, Tim Southee took 3 wickets for 4 runs, Trent Boult took 2 wickets for 7 runs, Mitchell Santner took 2 wickets for 8 runs, Rachin Ravindra took 2 wickets for 9 runs and Lockie Ferguson took 1 wicket for 9 runs.
The Kiwi team chased the target of just 41 runs, got the first blow in the form of Finn Allen at 24 runs. He was caught by Achelam off Riazat Ali Shah’s ball after scoring 9 runs. However, after this Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra gave the team victory without any further setback. Conway scored an unbeaten 22 runs with the help of 4 fours in 15 balls, while Rachin Ravindra remained unbeaten after scoring one run off one ball.
So far New Zealand was not able to win any match. They were upset by Afghanistan in the first match by 84 runs, while in the second match, co-host West Indies defeated them by 13 runs. Now their last league match is against Papua New Guinea on June 17. With this match, the Kiwi team will return home.
