Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla inaugurated the new building of the Assam Legislative Assembly on Sunday. During this, apart from Birla, Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly Biswajit Daimary, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Ministers Sarbananda Sonowal and Rameshwar Teli, among other important faces participated. According to the information received, the new assembly complex is spread over ten acres of land, which includes the main building and other buildings for administrative work.
In his speech, Mr. Birla said that the inauguration of the new building of Assam Legislative Assembly is historic for North-East India, I am glad that I could witness this auspicious occasion. A wonderful confluence of modernity and Assam’s cultural heritage, this new building is a symbol of Assam’s heritage. It is my belief that writing a new saga of development will improve the lives of the people of the state.
He also said, “It is hoped that the Assam Legislative Assembly will set new records by following new paths. Will fulfill new resolutions with the goal of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas. The meetings of the Legislative Assembly will become such a center of discussion and dialogue, where the welfare of the common man will be done by the nectar that comes out of the churning”.
