Sankalp Patra : Bharatiya Janata Party has released its manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections named ‘Sankalp Patra’. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President JP Nadda, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah released it during a program organized at the BJP headquarters. This manifesto of BJP focuses on Modi’s guarantee for a developed India in which emphasis has been laid on the upliftment of 4 pillars of the society – women, youth, poor and farmers.
This manifesto (Sankalp Patra) of BJP has been prepared by a 27-member committee headed by Rajnath Singh. The Senior BJP leader Singh said that more than 15 lakh suggestions were received for this. Here’s the highlight of the major announcements made in the manifesto.
*Free ration for next 5 years: The government is providing free ration to 80+ crore families since 2020. The PM said that Modi has guaranteed that the free ration scheme will continue for the next 5 years. He said that we will ensure that the food plate of the poor is nutritious, satisfying to his mind and affordable, cheap.
*Three Crore Lakhpati Didis– We have empowered one crore rural women by making them Lakhpati Didis. Now we will make three crore rural women Lakhpati Didis.
*Facilities for working women– We will build hostels for working women in industrial and commercial sectors which would have basic facilities like crèche. PM Modi said that the last 10 years have been dedicated to women’s dignity and new opportunities for women, the coming 5 years would be for the new participation of women power.
*Ayushman Yojana for Senior Citizens (above 70 years of age) – BJP has pledged that every elderly person above the age of 70 will be brought under the ambit of Ayushman Yojana. Every elderly person above 70 years of age, be it poor, middle class or upper middle class, will get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh.
*Zero electricity bill – We will provide free electricity every month through the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, so that the electricity bill of these families becomes zero.
*Uniform Civil Code– Uniform Civil Code is recorded in the Article of the Constitution of India as the Directive Principles of State Policy. BJP believes that until Uniform Civil Code is not adopted in India, women cannot get equal rights.
*Expansion of bullet train- We are developing the first bullet train corridor. We will do a feasibility study for new corridors in the north, south and east to expand this bullet train network.
*Resolve to build 3 crore houses– The BJP government has built 4 crore houses for the poor. Now, taking into account the additional information we are getting from the state governments, we will move forward with a resolve to build 3 crore more houses. Till now we have delivered cheap cylinders to every home, now we will work fast to deliver cheap LPG through pipe to every home.’
* Implementation of One Nation, One Election– We have formed a high-level committee to examine the issues related to One Election. Now, we will work towards the successful implementation of their recommendations.
* To increase seats in Medical Education– We will increase seats in UG and PG medical education through new AIIMS and various new district-level medical colleges.
