New Delhi : Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal may be arrested on Thursday (January 4). Delhi government ministers Atishi and Saurabh Bhardwaj expressed their apprehension on the social media platform X late on Wednesday (January 3).
Atishi wrote in her post – News is coming that ED raid will be conducted at Arvind Kejriwal’s residence tomorrow morning. There is also a possibility of arrest. Saurabh Bhardwaj wrote- ED is going to arrest CM Kejriwal at his house tomorrow morning.
Rajya Sabha MP and AAP leader Sandeep Pathak also posted and wrote that ‘Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is likely to be raided by ED tomorrow morning.’
In the Delhi Liquor Policy case, ED had sent summons to Kejriwal for the third time and called him for questioning. However, Kejriwal did not appear. On his behalf, ED was told that he was busy in preparations for Rajya Sabha elections and Republic Day. Whatever you want to ask from them, please send it in writing.
In response to this, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has alleged that repeatedly sending notices to Kejriwal meant barring him from campaigning in the Lok Sabha elections.
Earlier, ED had asked CM Kejriwal to appear on 2 November and 21 December. Then, Kejriwal termed both these summons as illegal and politically motivated and refused to appear before the ED.
