India vs New Zealand World Cup : Indian team won the ticket for the final match by defeating New Zealand in the semi-finals of the World Cup 2023. The men in blue took revenge for the previous defeat. India scored 397 runs, while the New Zealand team managed to score 327.
Chasing a huge score, New Zealand played a fighting inning for as long they could . Darryl Mitchell scored another hundred, his second against India in the tournament. Williamson and Phillips played brilliant knocks. But it was Shami got the best of the match, which lead India to the victory. The right-arm pacer secured a seven-wicket haul, a first-ever by an Indian, to help India to a 70-run win.
Batting first India scored a huge score of 397 runs for 4 wickets. Virat Kohli scored 113 runs on 117 balls, while Iyer scored 105 runs on 70 balls. Both of them added 163 runs in 128 balls. Earlier, captain Rohit Sharma gave a quick start to India by playing a stormy inning of 47 runs in 29 balls, while Shubman Gill, who was retired hurt in the middle, made a comeback in the last over and played an unbeaten inning of 80 runs in a total of 66 balls. KL Rahul remained unbeaten after scoring 39 runs on 20 balls.
This is India’s 10th consecutive win. This is also a record. The second semi-final of the world cup tournament will be played between South Africa and Australia at the Eden Gardens Stadium. India will play the World Cup final with the winner of this match on 19th November at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
