Dubai : India won the Champions Trophy for the third time by defeating New Zealand by 4 wickets in the final. This is the first time in cricket history that a country has won the Champions Trophy 3 times. The team led by Rohit Sharma hoisted the Indian flag in Dubai and once again gave crores of Indian fans a chance to rejoice.
Earlier, India had won the Champions Trophy in 2002 and 2013. In the final against New Zealand, Rohit Sharma created a stir with the bat and played a brilliant innings of 76 runs. However, the tension of Indian fans increased due to the continuous fall of wickets, but KL Rahul took charge and played till the end to ensure the victory.
Batting first in the final of the Champions Trophy 2025, New Zealand has set a target of 252 runs for India. The Indian spinners performed brilliantly and dismissed New Zealand’s top order batsmen. Varun Chakraborty and Kuldeep Yadav took 2-2 wickets each.
