India advancing in field of medical science: Dr Kumar
New Delhi : Medical Advances in the recent years has been the prime example of passion and research by Doctors. One such person includes Dr. Anup kumar, a well-known urologist of the country and head of the department of urology at Safdarganj Hospital , whose works are being appreciated not only in the country but all over the world.
Under the leadership of Dr. Kumar, live demonstration of laparoscopic and robotic surgeries was started from the portal of Ministry of Health Welfare six years ago, which is watched by doctors and others across the world.
Dr. Kumar, a resident of Dhakdey village in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, had his primary education in Delhi. He did MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College and M.S.& Mch .(Gold Medalist) from AIIMS and D.N.B in Urology from MNAMS. Later obtained degrees from foreign countries also.
Dr. Kumar, son of Er. Bhagwan Gupta and Smt.Vimala Gupta, a teacher by profession, is married to known oncologist Dr. Sarika Gupta, who is posted at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Hospital, Delhi. They have a son.
When asked about laparoscopic and robotic surgery, Dr. Kumar said that we had started an international web cast 6 years ago from the portal of Ministry of Health Welfare. In which laparoscopic surgery was first shown, then robotic surgery was later included. Earlier we used to do shows in 52 premium colleges. Now we go to 20 countries. So far 425 web casts have been completed, which is a record of sorts.
Dr. Kumar said that one can live a long life even with the help of one kidney, but it is necessary to get it checked from time to time. He said that for the first time in India, we have transmitted a robotic kidney transplant from a government hospital. He said that People not only in the country but also abroad are learning from our web cast. He said that we have a group of 10 thousand people. He said that now India is no less than developed countries. It also has advanced training and technology. This is the reason why India is now in a position to lead.
In response to another question, Dr. Kumar said that urinary disease is a serious problem. Which also includes cancer, which is growing very fast. There are many reasons for this. The main one is change in genetic composition. Apart from this, there are some dietary diseases like hypertension and diabetes which increase the risk of cancer. People consume more alcohol, smoking and junk food, these promote cancer.
He said that in prostate disease, there is a greater problem of tumor growth, which occurs with increasing age. This problem usually occurs after 50 years. It can be cured with timely treatment. He said that nowadays the problem of stones is also increasing.
When asked about prevention of diseases, Dr. Kumar said that people should drink two to three liters of water a day. Attention should be paid to diet. Consumption of salt and meat should be reduced. High Consumption of dry fruits is also harmful. . By eating lemon and orange, Vitamin C gets absorbed and this prevents the stones from growing.
Dr. Kumar, who did commendable work during the Corona crisis, said that apart from this, the lifestyle should be changed. Exercise is necessary in the present times. Along with these, checkups should be done from time to time.
