Assembly Polls 2023 : Elections announced in 5 states, results on December 3

The Election Commission on Monday announced the dates of assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram.  The election process in these states will last for 27 days. Voting will be held first in Mizoram on 7 November.  After this, voting will be held in Madhya Pradesh on 17th November.

In Madhya Pardesh Voting will be held on 17th November, in Rajasthan on 23rd November. Voting will be held in two phases in Chhattisgarh on 7th and 17th November.  Elections will be held in Mizoram on 7 November while Voting will take place in Telangana on 30th November.  The results of all states will come on 3 December.

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that if the assembly seats of Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Telangana and Madhya Pradesh to collectivel makes the total seats of 679.  At present there are 8.52 lakh voters in Mizoram, 2.03 crore in Chhattisgarh, 5.6 crore in Madhya Pradesh, 5.2 crore in Rajasthan and 3.17 crore in Telangana.  If all these are combined then there are a total of 8.2 crore male and 7.8 crore female voters. 

The chief election commissioner said that from October 17 to November 30, if anyone across the country wants to make any addition, deletion or amendment related to the voter list, it can be done. This can be done through BLO or directly through the website.  1.77 lakh polling booths will be built in these 5 states.
