New Delhi : There are indications of the announcement of Delhi Assembly elections next week. The Election Commission has completed all the preparations for this. The ruling BJP at the Center today released its first list of 29 candidates.
Giving information to this effect today, sources in the Commission said that all preparations will be completed with the publication of the final voter list the day after tomorrow. Last Friday, the Commission held a meeting regarding the preparations for the elections. Several rounds of meetings have been held before this.
According to sources, there is an emphasis on completing the election processes by the middle of next month at all costs. The last election was announced on January 6 in the year 2020. The Commission is determined to conduct free and fair elections on all 70 seats of Delhi at any cost.
Meanwhile, political parties have also speeded up preparations for the final list of their candidates. Ruling Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi has already announced its candidates on all the seats. BJP today released its first list of 29 candidates. Congress has also announced its candidates on most of the seats. Campaigning by the parties has also been going on for several days.
If election strategists are to be believed, this time’s election in Delhi is expected to be different from the last three elections. The chances of AAP winning with a massive majority since 2012 appear to be less. With Congress entering the fray with a strong majority, there is a possibility of a close contest between AAP and BJP.
