IPL 2025 : In the race to play off in IPL 2025, Chennai Super Kings struggling at the bottom after eight matches and need to win all their remaining matches to retain a chance of making it to the playoffs. The team’s head coach Stephen Fleming remains hopeful, drawing motivation from a known example.
Before CSK’s important match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Fleming said the team is aiming to follow Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s example from last season, when they pulled off a remarkable comeback to reach the playoffs.
“We’re still optimistic about winning all 6 games, and while some might laugh at that, RCB showed it’s possible last year,” Fleming said, pointing to RCB’s remarkable comeback in IPL 2024, where they clinched a playoff spot in their last match — coincidentally against CSK.
However, the CSK coach also pointed that if things don’t work out, then they want to make sure they can make the most out of the ongoing campaign and build for the future.
Fleming said that there won’t be a wasted game or opportunity in the next few weeks and the players know about it. The CSK coach is hoping this will create healthy competition between the players.
“And when that time comes, we will make sure there is no stone left unturned to get things right. There won’t be a wasted game or an opportunity in the next few weeks, and the players know that as well. And that creates opportunity and creates a bit of competition within. We won’t let any time go to waste,” said Fleming.
