Kolkata : Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra has entered West Bengal today. Unlike Assam, the Nyaya Yatra has been kept smaller in West Bengal. In Assam, the distance covered under Nyay Yatra was 833 kilometers, whereas for West Bengal this distance is only 523 kilometers. Rahul Gandhi’s yatra, which will pass through 17 districts of Assam, will cover only 7 districts in West Bengal, including Malda and Murshidabad, considered Congress strongholds.
In West Bengal, Congress State President Adhir Ranjan Choudhary welcomed Rahul Gandhi. While talking to the press in Cooch Behar, Rahul accused BJP and RSS of promoting hatred. He said, BJP and RSS together are promoting hatred and spreading violence across the country. He further said, the word ‘justice’ has been added in this journey because injustice is prevalent in the entire country. India alliance will fight against injustice in the entire country.
TMC to contest alone in LS Polls 2024
Earlier, in a blow to the opposition India Bloc, TMC chief Banerjee on Wednesday announced that her party will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections independently. Reacting to it, the Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said in Assam, “No opposition India block can imagine its existence without West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee.”
In Bengal, Rahul Gandhi will visit six Lok Sabha constituencies Darjeeling, Raiganj, North and South Malda in five days. This is Rahul Gandhi’s first visit to Bengal after the 2021 assembly elections.
Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra was started from Manipur on 14 January. Through this yatra, Congress is going to cover 110 districts of 15 states in 67 days. This journey will conclude in Mumbai on March 20.
