The future of developed India is in hands of youth : Gupta

New Delhi : Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta said today that the future of developed India is in the hands of youth.

Mr. Gupta was speaking at a program organized on the topic ‘Legacy of Martyrs, Impact of Youth Power – Creation of Developed India’ organized at Shaheed Sukhdev College of Delhi University. College Principal Prof. Poonam Verma and Prof. Gunjan Gupta were present on this occasion.

Recalling the sacrifice of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, Mr. Gupta said that these great freedom fighters sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country at the age of just 22-23 years.

Mr. Gupta said that we should always remember that we are living freely today because our martyrs sacrificed their lives. Their sacrifice is not just to be read in history but is a source of inspiration and guidance for us.

He praised the role of Shaheed Sukhdev College and said that this institution is not only a centre of education but also serves to preserve the legacy of freedom fighters and highlight their sacrifices.

Discussing the efforts made by the Modi government to preserve the legacy of the martyrs, Mr Gupta said that memorials like National War Memorial, National Police Memorial, Jallianwala Bagh Memorial and Cellular Jail of Andaman Nicobar are examples of this.

Discussing India’s economic and technological development, Mr Gupta said that the country has now become the third largest startup ecosystem in the world. In the last decade, the number of startups has increased to more than 1.6 lakh, which have provided direct employment to about 18 lakh people.
