Ind vs Aus, 4th Test Day 5 : The Kangaroo team defeated Indian team by 184 runs on the last day of the Boxing Day Test.Chasing the target of 340 runs set by Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Team India was all out for 155 runs in 79.1 overs. With this win, the host team took a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.

Yashasvi Jaiswal scored the highest score of 84 runs for India. Australia scored 474 runs in the first innings. In reply, India’s first innings collapsed at 369 runs. Australia got a lead of 105 runs in the first innings.

This is Team India’s defeat in a Test match in Melbourne after 13 years. Earlier, the Indian team had lost in 2011. With this victory, Australia has taken a 2-1 lead after four Tests in the five-match series. Now the fifth and final Test will be played in Sydney from January 3.

Under Rohit Sharma’s Captaincy, this is Team India’s fifth Test defeat in six Tests in the last two months. After losing 3-0 against New Zealand, India has lost in Adelaide and now in Melbourne.

With this defeat, India’s hopes of reaching the World Test Championship have also suffered a setback. Now it will have to depend on the results of other teams. Also, the next Test in Sydney will have to be won. A draw or defeat will put Team India out of the race.
