The central and Delhi government are busy baking political breads instead of taking measures to reduce the increasing pollution. Due to air pollution, smog remains even during the day at major public places like Kashmiri Gate Bus Station, Anand Vihar Bus Station, CP, AIIMS Chauraha, Red Fort etc. The condition at these places is such that people are dying every day.
According to doctors, the condition has been such for the last one month that people are suffering from cough, fever, burning sensation in the eyes, rashes and itching on the body and pregnant women are troubled. The number of such patients in hospitals is increasing. It remains fatal especially for asthma and TB patients. The number of patients of a new type of pneumonia is increasing. This is a type of silent pneumonia, which is not easily identified, but can be serious.
According to hospital sources, the number of patients suffering from pneumonia has increased in emergency these days. In many of these cases, walking pneumonia or atypical pneumonia is being seen, in which symptoms of pneumonia are visible in X-ray, but the patient is not seriously ill.
Well-known eye specialist and former Additional Director General of Health Dr. K.P.S. Malik says that due to increasing pollution, the problem of irritation and redness in the eyes has increased. Nowadays, the number of such patients has increased. To deal with this problem, people should avoid unnecessary going out for a few days and if it is necessary to go out, they should use glasses.
Senior dermatologist Dr. Pankaj Pritam says that due to pollution, the problem of rashes and itching on the body has increased. The number of such patients is increasing these days. To avoid this, people should wear comfortable clothes and use moisture providing cream.
Well known gynecologist Dr. Vineeta Rastogi says that the increasing air pollution has also affected the health of women. Especially those women who are working. Apart from this, pregnant women need to be especially cautious.
Senior CGHS doctor Dr. A.K. Jha says that at present, cases of silent pneumonia are increasing wildly in Delhi. It is quite serious, but its symptoms emerge gradually. However, Dr. Jha also said that it is not clear whether pollution is the main reason for this.
