PM Visits hospital to meet with victims and survivors of landslide in Wayanad

Wayanad Tragedy : Prime Minister Narendra modi on Saturday visited hospital to meet and interact with the victims and survivors of the landslide in Wayanad.

Later, the Prime Minister chaired a review meeting where he briefed in detail about the natural disaster and the ongoing relief efforts. Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, CM Pinarayi Vijayan, and Union Minister Suresh Gopi are also present.

Day before the PM visit, the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and former Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for deciding to visit the area after the deadly landslide. He also expressed hope that after his visit, the Prime Minister will declare the Wayanad landslide a ‘national disaster’.

Earlier Prime Minister, undertook an aerial survey in Wayanad before physically visiting the location of the disaster

In the aerial survey, he saw the origin of the landslide, which is in the origin of Iruvazhinji Puzha (River).He also observed the worst affected areas of Punchirimattam, Mundakkai and Chooralmala.
