First session of Parliament to begin on June 24

Parliament Session : The Parliament session will begin from June 24 and will continue till July 3. During this session, the newly elected Lok Sabha MPs will be sworn in and the important task of electing the new Lok Sabha Speaker will be completed. In the first three days of the session, the newly elected members will take oath and the Speaker of the House will be elected. The session will conclude on July 3.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said that the first session of the Lok Sabha will be held from June 24 to July 3, while the first session of the Rajya Sabha will be called from June 27 to July 3.

He also said that the 264th session of the Rajya Sabha will begin on June 27 and end on July 3. PM Modi will introduce members of his Council of Ministers in Parliament after the President’s address on June 27.

The Prime Minister will respond to the discussion on the motion of thanks on the President’s address in both the Houses of Parliament. During the session, there are chances that opposition may try to corner the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government on various issues.

This time the BJP-led (NDA) coalition government has been formed with 293 seats. BJP won 240 seats and could not cross the magic figure of 272. NDA allaince parties also include Telugu Desham party winning 16 seats and Janta Dal United securing 12 seats.
