Indian team announced for T20 World Cup, Samson-Pant both included

T20 World Cup : BCCI has announced India’s 15-member squad for T20 World Cup 2024 . Rohit Sharma has been given the captainship of the team, while the responsibility of the vice-captain has been given to Hardik Pandya.

KL Rahul did not get a chance in the team. Shubman Gill and Rinku Singh have been included as reserves. The biggest reason for KL Rahul not being in the team was probably his slow batting in the IPL. The team was announced on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar and Secretary Jai Shah.

The Indian team won the last T20 World Cup in 2007. This was the first edition of this format. For 17 years, India has been struggling to win this trophy. Last time i.e. in 2022, India lost to England by 10 wickets in the semi-finals. Now under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, these 15 players will come out to end the 17-year drought of T20 World Cup trophy

Indian team for T20 World Cup: Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wicketkeeper), Sanju Samson (wicketkeeper), Hardik Pandya (vice-captain), Shivam Dubey, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj.

Reserves: Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh, Khaleel Ahmed, Avesh Khan.
