There are more than 150 Installations of Robot in India . Delhi alone has more than 30 centers of excellence for Robotic surgery. Now even tier 2 Indian cities have Robotic installations. It has become a boon for pelvic surgeries and complex tumor surgeries. The advantage with the Robotic system is its 3D vision and 7 degrees of freedom.chamdra
He added that it’s quite easier to do suturing in deeper pelvic area with the robot which was always a challenge for open or Laparoscopic approach. The most common operations performed in Urology with a robot is Robotic radical prostatectomy, Robotic partial nephrectomy, Robotic Radical cystectomy, Robotic ureteric reimplantation, Robotic VVF repair etc.
Now with many of the Robots hitting the Indian market, the cost of required equipment has become quite lesser. The time is not far when we can have a Robotic centre of excellence in Jharkhand as well, he concluded.
